About the cps test – clicks per second test

The CPS (clicks per second) test measures how fast you can click a target in 10 seconds. It's a favourite of Minecraft PvP players and anyone benchmarking mouse or trackpad speed. Score is total clicks divided by the elapsed time.

How it works

  1. 1Click the target area to start the 10-second timer.
  2. 2Click as many times as you can before the timer ends.
  3. 3Your score is your clicks per second (CPS).
  4. 4Higher is better. Personal best is saved locally.

Tips to improve

  • Use two fingers alternately (jitter or butterfly click).
  • Rest your wrist on the desk to reduce fatigue.
  • Warm up your hand for 10–15 seconds before the run.
  • Try a lighter-click mouse — heavy switches slow you down.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good CPS score?

6–8 CPS is average for a regular click. Butterfly or jitter clickers routinely reach 10–14 CPS.

Is jitter clicking safe?

Sustained jitter clicking can strain your wrist. Keep sessions short and take breaks.

Why does CPS vary between attempts?

Hand fatigue, mouse switch response, and grip position all shift CPS by 1–2 clicks/sec run to run.
